This week, we talk with Greg Sargent of the Washington Post about his new book, “An Uncivil War,” which details the many ways that Trump and the GOP are actively working to erode our democracy, engaging in every from voter suppression and disenfranchisement, to working to undermine our institutions like the courts and media. But he believes the press has held up, in part because of the way that sources like the Washington Post cover Trump’s lies.
Also, following the harrowing reports on the crisis of migrant families at the Mexico border in California, including footage of children being teargassed, the organization Families Belong Together has called for nationwide rallies called Stop the Tears, and we’re joined by Palmira Figueroa, who’s organizing Sunday’s event in Seattle, to give us details.
And finally, we’ll hear from Indivisible WA 8 research team leader Stephen Wilhelm about this week’s calls to action.
