Ep. 83: A Spotlight on State Level Races in WA

We’re joined by a panel of expert guests to discuss state legislative races here in Washington:

– Marcie Maxwell, state representative from the 41st district from 2009 to 2013. She also served as Governor Inslee’s senior education policy advisor.

– Alex Bond, political director for the Washington Senate Democratic Campaign.

– Julia Ricketts, Washington State Captain for Code Blue, a national organization that emphasizes direct electoral activism, and here in Washington, it has put its focus on advocating for state level races.

The panel talks about why legislative races matter, what Democrats might be able to get accomplished with larger margins in the House and the Senate in Olympia, and we also shine a light on some key races across the state.

We also check in this week with Stephen Wilhelm, research team leader for Indivisible Washington’s 8th district, to talk about actions we can take here in Washington to push back against the Kavanaugh nomination, and to help protect Rod Rosenstein and the Mueller investigation.
